Plano-convex lenses have one convex surface and one flat surface, with positive focal length, and are usually used for applications such as beam reduction, focal length reduction or image magnification. To reduce spherical aberration, when a plano-convex lens is used for collimated beam focusing, the beam should be incident on the curved surface of the lens; when it is used for point light source collimation, the beam is incident on a flat surface. LBTEK chooses to use CaF2 to make a variety of lenses. CaF2 has high transmittance in the ultraviolet and infrared spectral ranges and has an extremely high damage threshold, making it widely used in the excimer laser industry. CaF2 material has a low refractive index, ranging from 1.35 to 1.51 in the 180 nm-8.0 μm working range. CaF2 also has good chemical inertness, compared with similar materials such as barium fluoride and magnesium fluoride. It also has high hardness characteristics. It is an ideal choice for lenses used in the ultraviolet and infrared bands. Our lenses are finely processed and strictly controlled to ensure that LBTEK provides users with high-quality lens products at reasonable prices.
